Oakley Headquarters
These formations express a story of loss and restoration that was really never intended to be told. When the property was purchased for development as a headquarters office complex for world renowned sunglass manufacturer Oakley, the site was surrounded by natural rock formations and native vegetation. While the owner was out of the country, an anxious construction superintendent took it upon himself to initiate site work and his team cleared the entire property in preparation for the upcoming construction. Upon his return the owner was devastated to learn that the magnificent natural formations had been removed. Working from site photography, the di Giacomo artisans closely replicated the missing elements during the restoration process. Today, few would realize that the replicated forms were anything other than the originals.
